Foliar fertilization is an easy and quick way to give your all of your plants in your garden the nutrients that they need to grow. This is one of the few fertilizers that takes no time at all to apply to your garden and works fast.

Foliar fertilization is the process of feeding the plants through their leaves instead of through the soil. The latter process takes much longer to deliver the necessary nutrients. The leaves of plants are much more effective at absorbing nutrients.

Foliars are used as a supplement and is diluted. Because of this it can be used to address issues such as insect pressures, poor growth, and plant stresses. What you need to do is to mix the foliar fertilizer with water according to the directions on the product’s label.

The best time to apply the fertilizer is during the early morning hours and the late evening. This is when the plant’s leaf pores are open and are more receptive to the nutrients. Remember to never apply a foliar following a rain storm.

Set your sprayer to the smallest setting and spray the fertilizer solution onto the plants. To help break the surface tension try spraying a few drops of a wetting agent like Yucca Extract before spraying the solution. This will also allow better adhesion for the fertilizer.
